Introducing the Great Lakes Regional Director Carrie J. Clark!
Carrie J. Clark professionally serves as the Director of Operations, which is comprised of IT Project Management Office (PMO), IT Service Management Applications, and IT Service Management Business Relationship, for the nationally recognized Henry Ford Health System (HFHS), located in Detroit. She has a staff of professional Project/Construction Managers, Analysts, and Developers. Before HFHS, Carrie held other key leadership positions such as Quality Assurance Manager, Director of Resource Development, and the Enterprise Project Office. Since 1995 she has served as an Adjunct Professor at local universities, teaching in Information Technology, Quality Assurance, and Project Management.
Over the years, Carrie’s leadership has been very instrumental in helping develop several value-added departments, corporate-wide processes, and training programs. She has achieved the 2021 Distinguished Alumni Award, 2018 EMUBA Eastern Elite award, DRIVEN award, the PMO of the Year Finalist Award, 2015 Michigan Chronicle Woman of Excellence, and received the Community Partner Award from FM 98. Carrie has achieved BA and MSA degrees and is currently working on her second Master of Science in Health Administration. Carrie has completed several certification programs where she has received credentials as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) from the Project Management Institute (PMI), a Certified Project Manager (CPM) from Xavier University, ITIL Foundations Certification, and a Scrum Master Certification from George Washington University. Throughout Carrie’s career, she has been selected to take part as an executive mentor in corporate-wide mentoring programs to help develop others who desire to expand their leadership, communications, and project management skills.
Since 2018, Carrie has served as the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Great Lakes Regional Director. She was re-elected in 2020. Carrie was initiated into the sorority’s Xi Chapter at Eastern Michigan University in 1987. She is a proud life member and a “Silver Star” with 34 years of committed service to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. After graduation from college, Carrie transitioned her sorority membership to become a graduate member of Lambda Pi Omega Chapter in Detroit, Michigan, where she has been a dedicated member ever since. She held many leadership positions within the sorority. Local chapter leadership roles include serving as President, Vice President, Historian, Member Liaison, Publicity Chairman, and Parliamentarian. On the regional level, she served on the Centennial Committee, Program Committee, and the 2003 Michigan Cluster Chairman and the General Chairman of the 81st Great Lakes Regional Conference in 2012. Carrie served on the Heritage Committee, International Membership Committee, Undergraduate Transition Taskforce, and International Investigations Committee on the international level. During the Excellence administration, Carrie has been appointed to Chair the Code of Ethics Committee, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and serve as a member liaison on the Sanctions Committee and Investigations Committee.
Carrie is a member of Second Ebenezer Church (Detroit), Project Management Institute (Great Lakes Chapter), American Red Heart Association – Go Red Passion Committee, Jack and Jill of America Associate, and a former board member for the Youth Development Commission (YDC).
Carrie is very blessed and thankful to have the support of her beautiful family -- husband, Mark of 26 years of marriage, and two handsome sons (Ian Marc Clark and Noah Stone Clark). Mark and Ian are active members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Ian graduated in 2019 from Michigan State University, and Noah is a Senior at the University of Toledo.
Carrie is a hard and dedicated worker, a proven and competent leader, and believes in rising up to the challenge to carry on the legacy, hope, and dreams of those sheroes who have paved the way for her and future generations to come.
