Regional Director
Soror Joy Elaine Daley is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated for more than thirty-three years. She was appointed the 9th International Regional Director of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated on July 12, 2018 by Dr. Glenda Glover, International President.
Prior to her appointment, Soror Daley served four years as the 30th North Atlantic Regional Director. She has taken bold steps to ensure that her leadership reflects the commitment she made to provide service to all mankind. Her unannounced visits to chapters across the North Atlantic Region to monitor chapter operations and provide hands-on support, earned her the title, “Drive-by Joy.”
Professionally, Soror Daley was a career educator in the New York City Public School system. She served as an Assistant Superintendent of Budget and Operations for thirty-five schools before her retirement.
Soror Daley strives for excellence in whatever she does and encourages others to be the best that they can be. She believes in being very honest and fair in her deliberations and that leaders should exemplify and model acceptable behavior that promotes growth and respect. This behavior was evident in her supervision of the region, at the Annual Regional Leadership Training Meetings she conducted, in the timely execution of her regional conferences and in her fiscally sound management.
She is an avid scrabble player and though a little rusty, when time permits, she competes in tournaments. She enjoys spectator sports, cooking, gardening and traveling to meet new people to broaden her horizon.
