Welcome to the Sophisticated South Eastern Region!

Greetings!

I am elated and humbled to serve as the South Eastern Regional Director of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. It is truly an honor to have been elected to lead over 11,000 active members of the Sophisticated South Eastern Region. Our members in over 114 chapters and general members in the states of Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee are poised to render service to all mankind as we have done for over 110 years. The South Eastern Region is home to the International President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Dr. Glenda Baskin Glover. Our members are fully prepared to implement our new International Program: Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service over the next four years.

My service to this illustrious organization began as an undergraduate at Spelman College where I was initiated into the “Sweet” Mu Pi Chapter. After graduation, I continued to prepare myself for this position by assuming various leadership positions at the chapter, cluster, regional and international levels. Service is the rent we pay for our time here on earth.

The theme for my tenure is Perpetual Pearls: Engaged-Enlightened-Energized. With renewed energy, fresh, exciting and innovative programming and conferences, we will ENGAGE and prepare our members for leadership. We will ENLIGHTEN members, keeping members abreast of recent developments and best practices. Together, we will ENERGIZE South Eastern’s service to our community.

I hope that this website will be a tool for obtaining more information about the South Eastern Region, its members and its chapters. An informed membership leads to a more active membership. Greater laurels to win, greater tasks to begin as we serve our dear Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated!
