Thank You for Your Service Theta Mu Chapter!

Theta Mu chapter members at the University of Central Arkansas volunteered with the city of Little Rock to sanitize meal boxes, and load meals to be delivered to students. So far, 209,000 meals have been served!

Congratulations Tyler!

Tyler Lawson, member of Gamma Epsilon Philadelphia City Chapter, received Sorority Member of the Year award at her University. She was selected as the recipient of the award because of her extraordinary patience, time management, organization, and unmatched dedication to her chapter and sorority. She was faced with the extremely tall task of running a city chapter with 5 schools across Philadelphia by herself, holding every single position in the chapter. She planned weeks' worth of events and brought in a line of 17 new initiates from several different schools. Her chapter advisor states, "her tireless work ethic, sisterly devotion, and unwavering perseverance is a testament to the member and leader she has become since her initiation in the fall of 2017."

We're So Proud of You Ada!

Ada Ruth Hunter is a member of Kappa Chi Chapter at Auburn University. Huntley is the former President of Kappa Chi and just made history on Auburn University’s campus (a 163 year old institution) by being elected the first female African-American Student Government Association President. Congratulations Ada, we are so proud of you!

Congratulations Tau Chapter!

It has been an amazing year for the ladies of Tau Chapter at Indiana University! At the 2019 GAAP Awards, they were honored with the following awards: Commitment to Fraternity and Sorority Life, Commitment to Diversity and Cross Council Collaboration, Outstanding Educational Program, Commitment to Academic Excellence, Outstanding Alumni Relations, Advisor of the Year, Commitment to Campus Involvement, Outstanding President, NPHC Woman of the Year, and Chapter of Excellence. The work never stops and they look forward to continuing their impact on and off campus!

Way to Set the Standard MaKayla!

MaKayla Elliott, initiated into Eta Psi Fall 18, is the first African American woman to graduate from Middle Tennessee State University with a Mechatronics Engineering Degree! Today she is a Supply Chain Leader at FritoLay and has joined the Murfreesboro, TN graduate chapter, Pi Nu Omega.

Great Job Sigma Psi Chapter!

The Sigma Psi Chapter at Davidson College partnered with Alpha Lambda Omega Chapter to host a #CAP program. They answered the questions of high school students about college and greek life while working alongside the Career Society to present about professional resumes and making career goals.

Outstanding Kayla!

Kayla Sullivan is a member of Pi Lambda chapter at DePauw University! She recently presented her research on the perceived perception of Algerians living in Paris at the 12th Annual Conference for the Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa. This research was based on her visit to Paris this Summer, and she looks forward to furthering this research and completing a comparison study in the future.

Amazing Delta Zeta Chapter!

The Delta Zeta chapter at Michigan State University gave back to their community by volunteering at a hospital. At the Sparrow’s Children’s Hospital Christmas party members helped to distribute cards, and presents to patients!

Keep It Up Tatiyanna!

Tatiyanna Sanders is a member of the Eta Psi chapter at Middle Tennessee State, and is currently studying Community and Public Health. She has served as a Direct Support Professional for the past three years in Rutherford County. Tatiyanna consistently assists over 20 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She spends countless hours partnering with Behavioral Specialists, Nutritionists, and Occupational and Physical Therapists to improve the persons supported overall wellness. She loves dedicating her time to others and is proud to be recognized as a 2018 Outstanding DSP nominee with Tennessee Community Organizations. Tatiyanna looks forward to interning with Murfreesboro City Schools Coordinated School Health Program next semester as a Health Promotion Specialist to have an even greater impact in the Rutherford County Community.

Thank You for EXCELLENCE Upsilon Eta Chapter!

The Upsilon Eta chapter at Belmont University served Thanksgiving Care packages to those in need around the Nashville area! Every package included a blanket, a pair of gloves and socks, lunch and water. They partnered with Belmont Dining who donated the lunches to complete their packages.

Very Creative Kappa Phi Chapter!

Kappa Phi Chapter provided a few children a unique and immersive experience into the Harlem Renaissance! In partnership with Toddlewood, they recreated six iconic Harlem Renaissance portraits of Black artist in order to educate on and celebrate the Renaissance.

Keep Striving for Excellence Lauren!

Lauren Poythress is a Spring 2019 initiate of Lambda Mu Chapter, and currently serves as the Financial Secretary and Connections Chair. On campus, she is the Chief of Staff of Miami University’s Office of Institutional Relations, Vice President of Miami’s National Black Student Association (Pre-Law Chapter), and a founding member of the Bridges Scholars Organization where she served as its Inaugural President for two years. Post-graduation, she wants to attend law school to become a civil rights lawyer. The Iota Upsilon Chapter of Syracuse University made an impact through their very own #AKAIotaUpsilon team fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness. The raised over $380 toward finding a cure!

Congratulations Kamry!

Kamry Parks is a member at Alpha Gamma Chapter at the University of California, Los Angeles, and this past summer she graduated from the Public Policy and International Affairs Junior Summer Institute at the Goldman School of Public Policy. She was given the space and opportunity to leverage her skills in microeconomics, statistics and policy analysis. This fall she has been hired as a political and strategic communications intern at SKD Knickerbocker and was awarded a position as a 2019-2020 Bunche Undergraduate Research Fellow!

Iota Omicron Chapter at the College of Charleston read to second graders at the Mitchell Math and Science Elementary School. The students were very engaged and asked questions about college.

Great Job Taylor!

This Summer Taylor Colleton of Kappa Kappa Chapter at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte had the opportunity to conduct Pancreatic Cancer research at her University's lab. During her time in the lab she studied the effects of specific antibody-peptide conjugates and drugs on pancreatic cancer cells! Taylor plans to continue her work until graduation.

Sigma Pi chapter of Florida International University began a resource drive for those in the Bahamas who were effected by Hurricane Dorian. Thank you so much for your effort to assist those in need, and effected by this terrible disaster. We would also like to extend a huge thank you to all other chapters who have also taken action.

Congratulations to Theta Mu Chapter at the University of Central Arkansas on their exceptional work toward our EXCELLENCE targets during their 2019 Undergraduate Round-Up! Participating in several of the service project that weekend, 26 little dresses and shirts for Africa were donated in support of Target 5: Global Impact. Additionally, non-perishable food was donated to Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) to support the homeless campus throughout Little Rock to support the Nutrition & Wellness goals of Target 3: Women’s Healthcare & Wellness, and the Operation AKA Assist goal of Target 3: Building Your Economic Legacy.
